At the coast

From The Coast

Just before the end of the year, we headed down to Merimbula on Boxing Day. We left Canberra some time after lunch and arrived exactly 3 hours later without stopping. Catherine was asleep most of the way and Nicholas fell asleep the last 15 minutes of the drive. As a passenger, I thought the drive was quite relaxing this time. Once at the house, the kids were excited. Nicholas kept commenting on how lovely it sounds in Merimbula with the many different birdcalls we hear. The kids happily entertained themselves with the toys there while Phil did the grocery shopping and picked up fish ‘n chips for dinner. We followed dinner with a walk at the boardwalk before putting the kids to bed.

The next few days consisted of going to the beach, lazing around the house, watching the cricket, reading, playing games and exploring the garden. We had a couple of sleep-in days and some grumpy moments, but overall it was a relaxing time.
