From Winter2016

Day 1
Peregian Beach - Explored our house and the beach. Groceries conveniently delivered. Did a bit of body boarding before it got too cold.

Day 2
Played tennis, basketball, swam at the pool and watched movies at the house.

Day 3
Coolum - Wet morning, but rain cleared and spent most of the day building sand castles, exploring rock pools and body boarding. Fish n chips lunch at the beach. More tennis and basketball back at the hotel. Drove to Noosa and had dinner at Betty's Burgers and Concrete Co.

Day 4
Whale spotting - Phil and Nicholas spotted whales from the house and headed to the beach. Drove to Sunshine Beach and walked part of the Noosa National Park coastal track from there. Spotted more whales from various lookouts. It was fun and we had a nice and challenging climb after Catherine’s inital refusal. It was a beautiful and warm day. Went to Noosa Beach afterwards then back to the house for lunch, tennis, basketball and a small bonfire with hot chocolate and marshmallows. Dinner at Peregian Beach Hotel.

Day 5
Eumundi Markets - Back 8 years later with Catherine. Sunny warm day, last time it was wet. Kids enjoyed the sights and sounds of the busy markets. Phil found yummy nachos for lunch. Drove to the Big Pineapple afterwards which the kids also enjoyed seeing despite it being run down and dead. Brief stop at Peregian Village for a play at the playground and looking for some souvenirs. Back at the hotel and spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool and watching movies at the house.

Day 6
Quiet time at Head of Fatima. Yummy Turkish fig and white chocolate muffin with flat white and Vogue magazine. More tennis and basketball then lunch at Noosa Junction followed by souvenir shopping and Finding Dory. More quiet time while the rest went out to bonfire then built a volcano at the beach.

Day 7
Cool and wet day. Stayed at the beach house most of the day. Movies, swimming, tennis and basketball while it showered on and off. Phil went for a beach walk on his own. Dinner at Noosaville tonight at an Australian Italian family friendly restaurant called Madmegs + Co. Got a free pizza due to a mix-up. Kids went to bonfire again for more marshmallows and hot chocolate.

Day 8
Last day - Left a very wet Sunshine Coast. Stopped at Skygate outlet mall for lunch before returning the car and heading back to the airport. Found Carl’s Jr at the domestic terminal and had more lunch there before discovering that our flight was delayed an hour. Our gate was changed 3 times which was a bit annoying but we managed. Arrived to a very cold Canberra about 6pm.
