We were welcomed to the house with a card from the owner, a fruit bowl, wine and milk in the fridge and fresh flowers around the house. The other half of our party arrived not too long afterwards. We spent some time in the backyard before working out what do for dinner. Phil and John went grocery shopping and John cooked barbecue sausages and steak, chips and salad. Later a Wiggles dance party was instigated by the youngest. We discovered the house had a nice set up with being able to stream media via a small screen with speakers and the TV. After the youngest went to bed we had ice cream. After the second youngest went to bed, we began a game of Trivial Pursuit which the females were winning. We never finished the game.

Docs Corowa
Travels with My Father, The Good Place
We had a mostly lazy Saturday. We went out for brunch at first to The Pickled Sisters Cafe at Cofield Wines but decided it was a bit pricey so we went back to Corowa. We ate at Docs Corowa cafe which had more food options and reasonable prices. We found a table outside and had delicious food and drink. After our satisfying meal, we drove to Rutherglen to drop off Nicholas at his friend's place for the afternoon. Back at the house, John was baking a cake and we all hung out at the back just reading and chatting. I later joined John and family for a short walk to the local nursery. The neighbourhood has some quaint houses and quite a few dogs around. At the nursery, we looked at plants and birds. My nephew enjoyed exploring the place. Lamb roast and salad was for dinner that night. We finished it off with a belated birthday cake for Phil and John. Nicholas came back in the evening with his friend. We watched some Netflix later that night.
Day Three: Sun, 6 October 2019
26°C
Cofield Wines
Rim of the World, Gulliver's Travels
Daylight Saving begins. It was the last day for John and his family. We went to check out the local Farmers Market. John and Nerida ended up walking with all the kids into town while Phil and I took the car. Phil parked in town and we bought takeaway drinks for the crew and brought them to the park across from the Farmers Market. The market wasn't very interesting, so after finishing our drinks we decided we would go back to Cofield Wines for Sunday Funday which we attended last year. We had sausages and chips for lunch and said our goodbyes. For our family, we went back to the house and relaxed for the remaining of the afternoon. Dinner was pasta and garlic bread.
Day Four: Mon, 7 October 2019
18°C
Bridge to Terabithia
Depart Corowa 10:15am Arrive Canberra 3:20pm
McDonald's at Gundagai
It was check out day for us. The kids watched one last movie before heading home. We packed up quickly and were out of the house by about 10:15. We listened to more podcasts and passed some pretty canola fields. We stopped for lunch at the busy McDonald's in Gundagai. We got takeaway and found some park benches down the road near Hungry Jack's and the petrol station. It was a cooler day but still sunny. We arrived home about mid-afternoon.
